My husband and I want to go to the Carrabana this year. When does it start and what is there to do?

Where is the best place to get a hotel, bargain shop, eat, dance clubs and the things they do at the Carrabana in Canada. I would like a nice, but cheap, hotel, and I would like to know the websites I could go to find the best bargain deals.

It is always the first full weekend in August (Civic Holiday weekend). Toronto Hotel will be full and at high prices. We always get top buck during Caribana. Stay in the outskirts like Hamilton and then you are a short bus, train ride to downtown. 45 minutes to Union station and then about 15 minutes to the parade route.
