What would happen to you? |
Travel Info Imagine you are member of Canada geese migrating south. One foggy night, you become seperated from the rest of the group. What problems might you have?what animals would you have to watch out for? Travel Tips I would find the nearest lake, pond, or river and stay there until dawn. When it's light, I would fly around a bit to see if my flock is at a neighbouring pond. If not, I would join another flock for the rest of the migration down. I would find my flock at our destination place (ex. a delta in Texas) because geese are habitual and nearly always frequent the same lakes and migration routes. What predators would I face along the way? Hunters, foxes, wolves, eagles, cougar, etc. But, there are also other dangers too - planes, hydro wires, powerboats, lead poisoning, etc. Cheers, Petra M, Vancouver Others geese don't get lost. their instincts take over. they fly thousands of miles every year and manage to find the same 200 acres known as jack miner's sanctuary. go to ca.yahoo.com type "jack miner" into the yahoo search bar. remember to check "Canada" below the search button. there's plenty of links there that will give you a better answer. i live about 5 km from jack miner's. That is an amazing question i would probably look for another group of geese (or look for a copy of juggz) cause being alone just sux (unless i have a copy of juggz *wink wink*) |
