Kelowna, British Columbia (Canada). Any awesome beaches? (names)? |
Travel Info we're going up their with my family for a huge family bash (no worries, my family's a tonne of fun..lol) We want some names of good beaches. Some private and also some good beach party places Travel Tips Go to Gyro Beach, it's down the lake on Lakeshore Drive where it meets the south end of Richter Street. I've always considered it more of a 'locals' beach. I don't know if you're really bothered by parking, but try and get there early to get a spot and a place to lay your towel. It's reasonably shallow a long ways out, and you're fine bringing your own BBQ (but not your dog.) Still can't find it? Keep driving south along Lakeshore until you see a park with a giant apple - that's Gyro. I really wouldn't recommend any beach accesses, they aren't really up to snuff. Others There's just a few beaches, mostly at the southern end of the lake. But many awesome wines. Just point your car towards the water and drive. Eventually you'll end up at an awesome beach. You said "up" there, so I'm assuming you're coming from the south. In that case, pass through Penticton. That's Beach Central. Personally, I'd check out Tuc-el-Nuit Lake though, just near the tiny town of Oliver. Very nice setting. That would be for your more quiet days. There are some good waterslides just south of Kelowna. The name might be Splashdown. Really good fun for the family. |
