If the U.S. is so great, why aren't Canadians hopping the border? |
Travel Info Haha, okay I am playing the U.S. is a great country, I visit it at least once a year, usually to Cali; and yeah I notice alot of hispanics, which is cool, cause I think latino girls are sexy. But wouldn't ever consider moving to the U.S., nor can I think of too many Canadians who would. Travel Tips Living just 7 miles from the US border, I find it's the other way around. Americans have been moving over here steadily for the last 20 years or so. They come to raise their children in a more peaceful environment, and to take advantage of our health care system. Yes, they do a lot of raving about "land of the free", but look where they choose to live! Oh Biff - you're hilarious! ROFL Try plunking yourself and your backpack in the middle of Iraq. Others it's coz there brains is froze Last time I checked, Canada wasn't a third world country where there are no jobs to help you feed your family. If that was the situation, and you knew that by crossing over into Manhatten you could send money home to help feed your family, I'm sure you'd risk it too. i'd stay in canada if i lived there. in about twenty years its gonna be way warmer there. in fact, you guys should get prepared cuz when **** hits the fan most people from america choose canada to run to. Canada is better ,for every thing thats why we like it here Whats the point? we are in paradice, now I -- long story -- lived there for a few years, and spent the entire time homesick as hell, and extremely frustrated with the problems there. Viz: racism. People living in really shameful -- for a supposed first-world country -- poverty. Ubiquitous guns. Right-wing politicos (and their mindless followers). Lousy health care even if you were decently insured. Etc, etc. SoCal has great Mexican food; the Latin population does have its merits. But... It does, yes, confuse a "But this is the greatest country on earth; everybody wants to live here!"-style American no end to point out that the overwhelming majority of Canadians, Europeans, Australians, etc, do NOT want to live there, even temporarily. Edited to add: Re. "simply shows the person does not understand the definition of first world" -- have you compared infant mortality statistics lately? |
