Is anyone on yahoo answers from Belize? |
Travel Info I was born in America, but my parents are Belizean. They come from Dangriga in the Stan Creek District and I have visted there about 4 times between 1998-2005. If anyone has been there, can you also tell me what you think about it? Travel Tips You may already know what I am about to write since you have been here before but since you ask I will give my opinion. My wife and I recently moved to Belize about 18 months ago and although there has been some adjusting to do we find Belize a very nice place to live. For me it comes down to two things. One, if you have to live near a big city with lots to do then Belize is not for you. Also, if you have to have access to the latest and greatest items - clothes, electronics, etc. - Belize will not be very enjoyable. However, if you like to live in small to mid sized cities where everyday you will see people you know walking around town then Belize can be a fantastic place to live and/or visit. In terms of San Creek in particular, I have to agree with some of the other respondants - I like other parts of Belize better. For me the Cayo District (San Ignacio and Belmopan) have been the most interesting. We have friends in San Creek and visit on a regular basis but I have not found much interesting to do except visit the beach. However, perhaps I need to do more looking - maybe Dangriga has some hidden gems I have not found. Take care... Others I've had friends who visited. The coral reefs are suppose to be nice. They speak English well. Belize City is "run-down-ish" but there's lots of cruise ship people. i am! dangriga is more a guarifuna town.. i love SAN IGNACIO!!! and BELIZE CITY only if u kno what your doing tho (its kinda "bad") I LOVE BELIZE!!! |
