Has anyone vacationed in the Cayman Islands? |
Travel Info Where you satisfied & what recommendations would you make? Travel Tips Well I am not selling packages like the other two ppl. I used to live on Cayman Brac, one of the three islands. Be sure and visit it if you have time. Of course, Grand Cayman, the big island, is the major destination and has everything you will need but there are two other islands; Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Both are worth a visit. I prefer them to the big island because they are so much less crowded. The snorkling,diving is fantastic on all 3, but best on the smaller islands. The people are friendlier on the smaller islands as well as no crime. But if you are going only to the big island, rent a car and drive the island. there is a very busy tourist area and then there is a beautiful neighborhood areas away from the hustle and bustle. People are generally helpful, but DO leave valuables in a safe in your room. Don't leave anything of value in your rental car while you snorkle etc. In fact, leave it unlocked or they might break the glass to get inside. There are nice hotels on Grand Cayman, but I prefer the condo rentals. GC is very much a party island and you will have lots of fun there. Be sure and visit the Turtle farm, and of course go to Hell.( It is an area of the island) that you must visit in order to get a t-shirt that says that you have been to hell. lol Oh and the best part of GC is Stingray city. You HAVE to go to Stingray city. Never seen anything like it in my life. What a blast!!!
