Any suggestions for romantic/scenic spots in Grand Cayman? |
Travel Info My husband and I are taking our honeymoon a year later. This summer we are booked on a cruise to the Western Caribbean. One of the stops is in Grand Cayman. Anyone who's been there...do you know of any romantic spots? Any scenic spots? I love photography so I cant wait to capture all the moments. Any recommendations because we're on limited time down there. I want to take in the scenic, but also not spend big $$$ on tours. Travel Tips Don't do any of the official tours!! If you want to go to Seven Mile Beach then when you get out at the Port walk to the bus depot which is only a minute away (ask anybody in a shop where it is) and you'll only have to pay US$2.50 for a bus journey all the way along Seven Mile Beach up to West Bay. My favourite spots along Seven Mile Beach is directly in front of condos called 'Coralstone'. It's next door to the Ritz Carlton hotel but the beach will be empty. If you want to do something really romantic then get a chilled bottle of champagne and make yourselves a little picnic on the beach. Other non crowded spots along Seven Mile Beach are in front of condos called, Lacovia, CassaCarib, Plantana, The Great House, The Avalon. The tour operators will bring you to places like The Royal Palms, Calico Jacks etc but these will be swarmed with people as somedays you can have up to 8 cruise ships in port. If you like photography then something really interesting and is a considered 'must do' here is Stingray City. Just get an underwater camera. Stay away from tour operators like RedSail Sports, Moby Dicks, Kirks etc as these again will hold huge amounts of people. I have used Oh Boy Charters and they will only hold a max of 20 on their boat as opposed to 50 - 70 with other tour operators.
