Travel Tips
I have been to St. Martin 3 times now. I love it so much that we bought a timeshare there. You have to go to Orient Beach. Be very careful if you go to Cupecoy beach the under current there is so strong that I wouldn't go in the water without my husband. I loved going to Isle of Pinel. There is a beach there called Yellow Beach and it is very calm and just a neat place to go. The short boat ride there was like $6.00. Of course you will probably want to rent beach chairs and an umbrella it will run you $18.00 total. You can buy lunch and drinks there but it can be a little pricey. This is on the French side. Have a ball, we sure did. It is true what they say, it really is a very friendly island. If you rent a car I would definately say get insurance. The roads are very winding and often have deep ditches or no shoulders. People also walk on the roads at night and it is hard to see them. You also never know when a herd of goats or a stray bull or donkey will cross your path. It has happened to us alot but then again we love to tour the island. Remember your passports!

Lucky you!

Let me be the first to tell you that your about to indulge in an experience that could be described as St. Maarten. Sonesta Maho is on of The top notch chains of hotels we have here on the island. It is located on the Dutch-side of our island. Centrally set amongst the finest restaurants on the island. And it is also within walking distance of the famous Sunset Beach Bar, which is believe it or not located at the end of the Airport runway. There you can enjoy the view of planes taking of and landing. Trust me it is an experience out of this world to be face in face with larger than life jets Sonesta is also just across from The hottest club on the island; Q Club. And about the beach the closet beach to the hotel would be Maho Beach is it beautiful. But let me warn you although the sea might seem calm it is a part of Mother Nature. There are strong undercurrents that you should be aware of at all time, fighting against them sometimes ends deadly.
There is so much to do and see here on this island, that to start naming places would take all nite so here are some sites you can visit. I only wish I could show every visitor to my island the true beauty of it. Not just the tourist route which hardly involves true Caribbean Lifestyle, meaning what we as locals do, where and what we eat and where we go for entertainment.

I would like to end in saying I do hope you have a wonderful vacation here on our Friendly Island of St. Maarten

St. Maarten Awaits You.
