I am planning a destination wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.?

Travel Info
I decided to go with this because I have some anxiety and would not be able to handle a bunch of people at a traditional ceremony. We are only having about 8 guests come, due to the expense. This is completely fine with me and I'm very excited. Has anyone ever been their? Any tips/advice?
Thanks

Travel Tips
I am a travel agent and do many destination weddings.

No matter at which resort you decide to get married, PLEASE, do not try to do it yourself. Every major resort has a wedding planner/planning staff - their services are invaluable - I've seen brides become terribly stressed that have not used a planner.

The only other pieces of advice I would leave with you are:

#1) use a travel agent that has experience working with destination weddings and wedding planners;

#2) the more "upscale" resorts seems to yield the best, easiest, most memorable results.

Congratulations and enjoy the planning! Source(s): I am a Certified Travel Consultant Specialist.

I have and you'll love it... the beaches are some of the best... plenty of palm trees for shading (like a real beach should have), fine white sand, WARM turqouise green water... simply awesome, but yes, pricey. Resorts are good, but everything outside is pretty much poverty... congrats and good luck...
I have never been there before but I hear it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I have just started a squidoo lens on it. You can check it out at http://www.squidoo.com/punta-cana/.... I will be posting more information on in the coming days. You can also checkout my honeymoon site at http://snipurl.com/1kogx. Enjoy
My daughter is planning a destination wedding too. We looked at the DR, but decided it was too much hassle having to get all the documents switched from English into Spanish & then back again. We have decided on Jamaica because they speak English & no translation is necessary.
I have been to Punta Cana before and it's very beautiful, saw a few weddings while we were their...very nice.
Wherever you decide will turn out perfect. Make sure the resort comes with a wedding coordinator, they handle pretty much everything
Congrats
