Were there really pirates in the Caribbean? |
Travel Info I've seen Pirates of the Caribbean five times and all the bonus features twice. Hence I know quite a bit about the movie and I am completly obsessed with it. Calico Jack was one of them. yes There were many many many pirates in the Caribbean. Most of them would use it as a winter haven due to its wonderful climate and exotic ways. It made for good living. Check out the history on Port Royal, Nassau and Puerto Rico for some good pirate history Yes there were pirates in the caribbean. A lot were British ships stealing treasure from the Spanish. There are still pirates in Southeast Asia around Indonesia. They steal anything they can put their hands on. Not good. Christopher Columbus was a known Pirate who sailed the Caribbean. But unlike the movie, Columbus was a liar, thief and a rapist; Nothing at all like the movie. Since you know so much about the movie (just kidding), did you know that it was filmed in the British West Indies, the Country of Dominica? Yes, I was excited to hear that, considering it's the place of my birth. :) Yes there were. A few include Blackbeard aka Edward Teach, Henry Morgan, Calico Jack, Anne Bonney, & Mary Read. |
