What's the weather like in the Caribbean in October? Any areas better than others? |
Travel Info I'm planning on taking a cruise in Late October... and I was wondering how the weather was. I was warned of Hurricanes... but, if they're gone, what's the normal weather like in late October? Travel Tips In late October it should be in the 80's and higher every day. This is considered the "rainy season" so you may have random, strong rains, but they usually end as quickly as they start. I lived in the Dominican Republic for a little while and this was my experience while there. It may get cool in the evenings (depending how close you are to the water), but only a light jacket will be needed. Its beautiful year round so dont be concerned. I was never caught in a hurricane while I lived there so dont worry yourself with that. Have a great time!!!! Others Hurricane season. You may be disappointed and you could have lovely weather. Gamble, like a roll of the dice. I was in Aruba last October and weather was great, beautiful! Very hot! I would recommend Aruba to everybody, beautiful place, with beautiful beaches and hotels, nice and kind people that like to help and make your visit wonderful! I had great time there and I'll definitely go there again! In Jamaica they have a troplical climate. That is because the average weather pattern is mostly sunny. The Caribbean in generally goes through two seasons that is the dry and the wet season. The dry season is from December to May and from June to November it is the wet season. During the wet season hurricanes frequent this region thus, resulting in the country experiencing some rainy days. However, not to fret it does not mean that it only rains during this time it is still on average very warm and sunny. The only concern is that if a hurricane is heading in the direction of the country you may experience a couple rainy days. However, last year was a very dry year as no major hurricanes came near the country. Seeing that you are planning a cruise in October I believe you do not have much to fear as you should be more than safe on the ship. October to November is when the wet season usually dies down so hurricanes or rain should not be a major problem. You can definately take it from me I have been living in Jamaica all my life. So I hope you will definately come to Jamaica and feel alright. Enjoy your trip. October still has a chance of getting some hurricanes here and there. Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba are mostly spared from hurricanes, and the weather around there in October is mostly humid, chance of rain, and temperatures un the upper 80's - lower 90's. Do remember that weather is not as predictable as we would hope. Have fun |
