Where in the Carribbean should I go this summer? |
Travel Info Looking for a quaint island that isn't too toursity. THanks! Travel Tips I had a great time in Barbados. It is not as centered on tourism as other islands, so there are many more chances to interact with the locals, who are very friendly. There is a rain forest that is a protected park. You cn surf, or snorkel in coral waters. There are even green monkeys - I'm serious, they're green and they get about 3 or 4 feet tall. It has the most efficient public transportation system I have ever seen. It usually rains for about 15 minutes each day in the afternoon. Even though it is almost at the Equator, the tempurature is only about 83 degrees. Others We spent our honeymoon in St. Lucia and it was very quiet and beautiful. If we had the chance we would go back in a second. summer is scary in carribean in terms of weather so really do your research before you book. i believe aruba, bermuda and fiji are good though even in the summer but still make sure you research the weather and see recommendations. also hawaii is actually good in the summer. Try Guadalupe, French West Indies; not touristy at all and pretty inexpensive; beautiful water with swaying palm trees...love it! Aruba.... I would splurge, though and go to Hawaii and skip the Carribean.... Just my opinion though. My absolute favorite is Barbados. Beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, great native food, good nightlife very nice people. I have been to Puerto Rico, Antigua, St Thomas, Bermuda, and Nassau in the Bahamas (which is pretty nice too), but for me Barbados is tops. Life |
