Honestly, I found Jamaica to be horrible. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful. The resorts are very nice and if you stay on the resort property most of the time it is great. However, I like to venture out and I just didn't feel safe in Ocho Rios. As a woman I was scared when I walked around town and was warned by our own tour guides not to go out after dark alone or with only women. A man on our trip was robbed at gunpoint one night as well. The Cayman Islands are much safer and just as beautiful. I enjoyed my trip there and felt secure enough to explore the city. Hope this helps :-)
I will pass on Jamaica from now on. I didn't like the feeling of being unsafe and the open solicitation of drugs. The police will bust the buyers and leave the sellers alone. Grand Cayman one of my favorite islands in the Caribbean. It is British, therefore clean safe and beautiful. The only down side is that it is a little more expensive than most islands.
I'm going to visit all the Caribbean Islands before I die. 11 down.....
If you want to go to Jamaica go to Montego Bay it is so pretty and awesome Montego Bay is my favorite place ive ever been!
Go to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata, safe, big beaches, fun, discovery, and so more!!!!!
