If a cruise ship states will be in port 10 AM to 6:30PM. What time could I expect to be able to get off ship? |
Travel Info Will be on NCL cruise line in Tortola 12/17/07 arriving 10AM Departing 6:30PM. Need to catch local ferry at 10:30 AM (10-15 minute walk away). Will I be able to make it??? Anyone?? Travel Tips off hand I'd say no way, for if nothing else, BVI Customs and Immigration have to do a clear-in......and the other poster has a point.....are you going alongside the dock in Roadtown or anchoring out and tendering in? Best bet is to talk to NCL, and talk to several different people both in the office and on the ship.. Source(s): 30 years in St Thomas Other Travel Tips Speak to the cruise staff, so they can get you off quickly. When we cruised, if the ship tied up to the wharf, everyone got off quickly, but if we had to get carted ashore on the tenders, it took hours!!. It will still take the ship sometime to tie up and get the gangways in place, so you'de better check. The 10:30 arrival time is actually the time they begin to let people off the ship. Typically you will arrive about 1 - 2 hours prior to that It depends on where you are coming from before Tortola. If its a nearby island you will be off quick because they probably dock a little before 10am. But you should definitely talk to the crew on the ship. Yes you will make it! Go Go Go Go !!!! 10.30 to 10.45. Also be aware that your ship may not be on island time |
