Have you ever been to Belize,Central America? |
Travel Info I live in Corozal,Belize. If u have been here how was it like? just leave ur comments about Belize! Travel Tips I had the most wonderful holiday there a few years ago and revelled in the wonderful Mayan ruins (we visited one such ruin where they had just uncovered a mask which nobody had seen for many hundreds of years and we were allowed to look provided that we took no photos -- wonderful moment!) We stayed in a wildlife lodge and we canoed up river with our guide, a wonderful man with a passion for wildlife of all kinds, and his assistant, who had come third in the national canoeing championships some time previously (just as well with me in the boat!) In the night something bumped into our tent and in the morning we found armadillo tracks around the tent. (It happened each night, in fact!) Another time we had a chase up the river after a wounded gibnut, with half of us wanting to have a close look at the dear little thing and the other half under the impression that we were hunting him for dinner! The goodies won, I'm glad to say! And we didn't betray his whereabouts to some hunters on horseback who arrived in pursuit of their prey! We had such a wonderful time and saw so many marvellous things and learned so much about birds that when travelling in Honduras afterwards my spouse was mistaken for an ornithologist by some admiring tourists! I love Belize and urge others to go there. Others I visited Belize one day while on a cruise and went to the sanctuary in Belize City and drove through the city itself. People were very friendly. Had a great day! I've been married to a Belizean for 11 yrs and have never visited, looking forward to the day I can get there. The way he talks of home makes it seems as if its the most beautiful place on earth. He is from the Ontario area. A fellow Belizean! What's up? I was born in Orangewalk! What's new in Belize? Been about a year and a half since I was there. I grew up Mennonite and we lived in Little Belize when I was born, and then moved to Spanish Lookout before immigrating to Canada in April of '89. I've been back a couple of times in the last 3 years and some odd months (the first time I met my honey, also from Spanish Lookout). The last time I was there was about a year and a half ago - my boyfriend and I live with our 10-month-old baby boy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada right now. But we've been wanting to go back for a vacation for a few months now. Hasn't worked out yet, but eventually we plan to move back. Yay! I love how laid back Belize is (and warm too!) I also would like to never have to drive on ice again! I've had two accidents involving ice and I don't care to have another, it scares the daylights out of me. Strangely enough, I haven't ever set foot on the beaches of Belize! Isn't that weird? Everything else about the country is so fantastic, you don't even need the beaches to like it! But the beaches are still awesome and I want to go there someday. My only regret is not doing it before I had this baby, because now if I were to put my bikini on, I might scare some people! :O Maybe I'll see you there yet! |
