Jamaica which came from Xamayca-land of wood and water
Haiti-Mountainous country
Some of the nations were name in Spanish, french or portugese after the nations that colonialized them for example Trinidad spanish for trinity named by spain
Puerto Rico meaning Rich port and so on.
