Is San Andres Island safe to go to for a canadian couple?? |
Travel Info It looks amazing and beautiful.. whatis the cost of say.... a beer a meal a hotel room Travel Tips I would say San Andres is as safe as any other place in the Caribbean, and with regards to you being Canadian I would think yo煤麓ll feel right at home, last time I went the island was packed with canadien tourists. The people are extraordinarily attentive and I麓m sure you麓ll have a good time. San Andres is a duty-free island so everything is relatively inexpensive. The majority of hotels are all inclusive, so you can eat and drink to your hearts content. I rented a scooter while I was there and you can circle the entire island in about 45 minutes. the hotel chain I was staying in had 3 other hotels on the island, so we cruised for a while and stopped at all the hotels to hit the beach and have some drinks (all inclusive package included all hotels), Decameron is the name of the chain. Rooms aren麓t that nice but it was really cheap. In the downtown area, prices were fair, about $1.50 for a beer and a meal for around $10. Overall I had a great time for not that much money, I would recommend you visit. Happy travels Others Are canadian couple so different or special? It is utterly safe. You can wander around in the middle of the night without fear, which is quite staggering for the Caribbean. Most places described as crime free aren't anything of the kind, but I was convinced by San Andres! It's been a few years since I was there, but beer was around 1 US dollar in a homely, unpretentious setting down town. Meals were also cheap, but I can't give any realistic indication other than that. Our hotel room was part of a package deal, so there again, I can't help. Let me just urge you to go. It is a great place to be and its utter calm and serenity are part of the attraction, if you're looking for a really quiet holiday. The people are very friendly and many Colombians visit the island to get away from the various tensions that they are exposed to on the mainland. |
