Choosing an island for travel to the Caribbean? Do not go to Grenada. Information and details.? |
Travel Info If you are looking for a good place to go in the Caribbean, do not go to Grenada. The local men here are rude and will hollar and hit on you without reserve. The local women are rude as well. They are very slow, I am staying at The Coyaba, which is the second-nicest hotel here in the country and the service is terrible. The restaurant has poor food, poorer service, half the menu items are not available and opens late. The falls are small, more like a trickle, nothing to get excited over. Grand Anse is beautiful but the beaches in Barbados are just as gorgeous and you won't feel like you might get raped playing on it. The taxis look just like normal cars so you cannot trust anyone. They pipe all the sewage/waste just 800 yards out the otherside (of Grand Anse) to the ocean. They say there is no Malariya but there is Dengay Fever. They say crime rate is low, but half goes unreported, 5EC pays off the cops to let you go.For culture, go to Trinidad or Tobago. Don't go to Grenada. Travel Tips i think thats a totally biased opinion. you may have one bad expirience in Grenada and you choose to give them a bad name. the way you speak is as if there is nothing good in Grenada!! every where in the world has its good and bad. even Barbados with thier beautiful beaches and Trinidad with their wonderful culture. i dont have to or want to highlight these. so i think it was wrong the way you painted a biased totally bad picture of Grenada Source(s): by the way i am not from Grenada or particularly associated with there. Other Travel Tips that's something to really think about! We stopped there on a cruise ship and I saw that I would not want to go back. But for the most part the people were nice for the four hours we were there. Well, I'll have to agree with you on the driving part. I have never seen more callous and irresponsible driving anywhere. As for the harassment, it is a shame that you experienced such an invasion of your privacy. Maybe it would be a better idea to travel in a group of about three or more of your best friends not only to make the trip more exciting but for your own safety as well. Last time I went to Grenada, I had a splendid time. I went with four other girl friends and we stayed by a local who rented his house to us for the 10 days that we were there. I guess this also helped us because one thing you'll realise is that since the place is so small word gets around quickly and knowing that we were in a local village I think the people felt we were more approachable and they were very friendly towards us - not at all rude. You are entitled to your opinion, but I think if you made a few good friends while there and hung out with them, you may have had a better experience. Another thing - once you are a good looking girl, the Caribbean men will always show appreciation (whistling and the like) the best way to deal with it is to either ignore it or simply say thank you and continue steadfastly on your way. Getting angry and showing the slightest bit of irritation will invite it even more but this time you may get some insults along with it. And that can be even more embarassing! |
