When was the last hurricane in Aruba? |
Travel Info I'm taking a trip in July to Aruba and Curacao. All the resources on the web tell me that both areas are outside the hurricane belt, but I don't buy that. I think hurricanes go wherever they can, and its not like theres an electric fence keeping them within their boundaries, right? Does anyone know the last time either of these areas had a hurricane or severe storm? Travel Tips I've heard that Aruba doesnt have hurricanes. I've been to Aruba once before and it had the most beautiful weather. It was extremely hot. I went in August and it definitely rained a little here and there but it would be gone in about 15 minutes. I don't think you should worry. Others Believe it, Aruba is outside the hurricane belt. They also have a phrase for all turist: "In Aruba there are not rain checks" or something like that. Aruba is a dry island, but windy - ask for divi divi trees. You will enjoy a wonderful weather specially in July. Don't worry and have fun. You're right, hurricanes go where ever they want to go. I cannot give you a precise year for aruba, but the last time Curacao was hit by a hurricane, was over 100 years ago, at around the turn of the century. There have been some close calls, but none hit in a while. I lived in Curacao my whole life, and never seen more than a rough see and some rain. A better way to put it, The islands are outside the usual path of hurricanes. |
