Travel Info Martinique ? Do you know ? Travel Tips I am not from Martinique but from Dominica but Martnique is directly south from My island.There is a very excellent ferry service inbetween St lucia, Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe which is very much cheaper then air travel.So You could vist these various islands on your visit to martinique. It is one of the few French dependancies like its sister island Guadeloupe(which is North of Dominica).Therefore French is the official language and French Creole (patois) is widely spoken.A fairly large number of the population can speak english. The currency is now The Euro Dollar. Very nice place, it would be an asset if you spoke French since it their native language. There are lots who speak English though. |
