When does the rainy/hurricane season run from/to in the carribean? |

Located in the tropics, just 12掳 north of the Equator, Cura莽ao has a warm, sunny climate year round. The average temperature is about 27掳 C (in the mid 80s F). Cooling trade winds blow constantly from the east, picking up in the spring months. The rainy season, which is between October and February, is usually marked by short, occasional showers, mostly at night, and continued sunny weather by day. Total annual rainfall averages only 570 mm (22 inches). Additionally, Cura莽ao is located on the outer fringes of the hurricane belt. Consequently, the frequency of hits by tropical storms is much lower than for other parts of the Caribbean. November-April are the driest months and lovely to find a beach :) Hurricane season starts in may and ends in november but can run through december. The warmer the water is the better the conditions are to fuel a hurricane. The most dangerous part of the hurricane is the eye wall and the tornadoes that spin off of a hurricane as well as the storm surge. I live in a hurricane area. They say between May- November but most hit around August and September. It's from June to November here in the Bahamas but we havent had a serious hurricane in a long time. |
