Is it right that there is no U.S. Embassy at the Cayman Island? |
Travel Info Is it right that there is no U.S. Embassy at the Cayman Island? So, how to apply for a U.S. transit visa for Indonesian like me? Is it right that I have to go to Jamaica only to apply for U.S. transit visa? Travel Tips There is no U.S. Embassy in the Cayman Islands because the Cayman Islands are a British (UK) possession. "Embassy" will only be located in the capital city of a country. There used to be a U.S. Counselor Representative in the Cayman Islands, don't know if the position still exists. Check with the Minsitry of Admin Affairs, the Port Authorty or the Chief of Police if there still is a counselor rep. A majority of the affairs with the Caymans is handled by the U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaicamon. Contact the counselor section of the embassy in Kingston and they should be able to fix you up. Source(s): Personal experience. Other Travel Tips "The United States does not maintain diplomatic offices in the Cayman Islands. Diplomatic relations are conducted through the U.S. Embassy in London and the British Embassy in Washington, DC." so, no - there's no US embassy. click the link below for more info. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/5286.ht... |
