Has anyone been to St. Maaren?

How was it? My girlfriend and I are considering a vacation there.

St Maarten/Martin is actually two different nations on the same island: the Dutch side of Sint Maarten, and the French side of Saint Martin. Dutch side is a bit more commercial, with some casinos and it's where the cruise ships dock, the French side has quieter resorts and a couple of nice towns with shopping and restaurants. It's a pretty commericalized island, so traffic can be a pain when getting around. Personally I prefer the French Side. Hope you have a good time if you go! Source(s): I'm a travel agent
