Travel Info Are you from or have you been to The Dutch Antilles? If so what the place like? Travel Tips I am from the Dutch Antilles also known as Netherlands Antilles. I am from St. Maarten. We are all different in many ways. Very soon there won't be a Dutch Antilles because all island will be dealing with the Netherlands seperately. For now Curacao is the head island of the Dutch Antilles. We all have seperate governments but have 1 jointly government. Each island have something different to offer. One things we have in common is our people are friendly. Others First off, the Dutch Antilles are comprised of several different Islands. Each one having it's own personality, They all have their own Government, but are backed by Holland in many ways. They are all warm the year round with beautiful blue-green water Hi, I am from the Dutch Antilles. Let me tell you more about it. Dutch Antilles comprises of Curacao - Capital ISland St.Maarten, Bonaire, Saba, St. Eustatias. Aruba was part of the Antilles and is a separate country by itself but still under Holland in certain ways. The Dutch Antilles plan to follow like Aruba later this year with Bonaire being muncipalities of Holland and the rest individual countries but still under Holland in certain ways. Most of the islands are similar but each one has its own charm. Aruba is mostly man made but its pritine beaches are great for relaxing. Curacao is something really diffrent and the best amongst all, it has a very big european influence along with caribbean charm. it's like living in a city and island. the beaches are out if this world and the hikiing is great. St. Maarten is divided in 2 halves sharing one side with the frenchmen. Bonaire is true caribbean flavour with the best dive sites in the world. Saba and St. Estutatias are unique in its own way. Live down here. I'm from the Dutch Antilles... Curacao to be exact. I can't really tell U much about the other 4 islands, cause I have not been to any of them in a long time. about Curacao however, I can pretty much tell you aaalmost anything there is to know. Friendly people, great classic arquitecture, good food, amazing beaches, great shopping, nice hotels and plenty of outdoors activities. Most of these are features that I know all 5 islands share in common, but Curacao and Bonaire, being all the way in the southern Caribbean, have a veery different culture then St.r Marten, St. Eustatius and Saba, which have a stronger feel like some of the other islands of the Caribbean, http://www.curacao.com Let me know if U need anything else |
