Can I sail from the virgin islands to saint maarten without a passport? |
Travel Info saling on a private boat, not a charter. Travel.state.gov says I can, (for another year under the new law), but the saint maarten site says I need a passport. No time to get a passport, sail in a week! I have my bc with seal, and a license.I know I SHOULD have a passport, but I don't, so please help!! Travel Tips Yes you can for one more year and you are correct it does say so on travel.state.gov. To verify or for further info contact the VI Port Authority: St. Thomas/St. John Marine Facilities Ms. Maria Walters Marine Manager P. O. Box 2216 St. Thomas, VI 00803 Tel: (340) 774-2250 Fax: (340) 777-9694 E-Mail: mwalters@viport.com St. Croix Marine Facilities Mr. John Payne Marine Chief P. O. Box 1134 St. Croix, VI 00821 Tel: (340) 778-3131 Fax: (340) 778-1176 E-mail: jpayne@viport.com Source(s): http://www.viport.com/faq.html#what%20do... Other Travel Tips you MIGHT be able to re-enter the US w/o a passport from SXM but I'd be leary of telling you yes.call Customs in St Thomas at 340-774-6755 IF SXMs GOVERNMENT SAYS YOU NEED A PASSPORT, THEN YOU NEED A PASSPORT..SORRY It's not like th eold days when you could sail around with a ten year expiered Massachusetts driver's liscense.. 30 years sailing around the Caribbean I'd get a passport. There are places you can go and get them in 72 hours. Costs a lot though. Hope this works out for you. |
