Is there a ferrie going from florida to the caribbean? |
Travel Info i am moving to the carribean and want to take my truck with me is there a ferrie i can take Travel Tips What Island you heading off too? I originally from Trinidad and Tobago. Nope there is no ferrie to the Caribbean, and If you moving there from America you will also notice we drive on the opposite side of the road(unless you going to US virgin island or something) . What you'll need to do is take a plane there, but hire a shipping company to transport your vehicle by boat/ship. Just search for "Caribbean Shipping companies" and give them a call.It will take over 2 weeks even longer to get your vehicle, so you might want to do it ahead of time. They should also be able to ship large stuff like appliances, refrigerators and furniture(which can be pretty expensive in the caribbean). If your move is permanent, and you not moving to a US affiliated island(meaning they dont use american currency), I would sell your truck here in America and buy a brand new truck when you get there, some islands like mine are a 6 to 1 US dollar exchange rate, so if you sold your truck here for say $10,000US, on my island that would be $60,000 which could get you a decent ride. Again it all depends on which island you heading too. Remeber once your stuff arrives you will have to pay customs duties and taxes to get it out the port. Edit: also try looking up freight, carte cargo. There's lots of them in orlando and miami Source(s): Caribbean Citizen Other Travel Tips Agree with Revel.. there are only boat services to Bahamas I guess nothing further down. |
