Golf in St. Martin? |
Travel Info Anyone been golfing in St. Martin? What are the greens fees? Is it worth the green fees? Only for guests of certain hotels? Reservations? Worth the green fees (if high)? Info please! Travel Tips Let me clarify what Stella39 mentioned...The course is horrible!! Even though the course at Mullet Bay is the only one on the island, only the true "diehards" among the locals even bother...it's that bad. There are so many other things to do on the island, it never even crosses my mind to suffer though a round, and I LOVE to golf. I head to the island two to three times a year and many times I never see a person on the course when I drive by or when I'm at Mullet Bay Beach. Unless you are an absolute "white-ball" addict, don't bother dragging your sticks along. If you absolutely, positively, HAVE to golf; go and pay the ridiculous fees, but I encourage you to rent clubs so you have an excuse for playing so poorly. Have a GREAT time, and say "HI" to Norbert at Sunset Beach Bar! He'll buy you a free drink:) Others Only one golf course in St Maarten/St Martin and it's not in the best condition. A wonderful website to ask your questions about St Maarten is www.traveltalkonline.com. The posters on that site are a wealth of information. Enjoy your trip to St Maarten/St Martin The greens in St Martin are not the greatest and they charge $125. However if money is no object they just opened a new course in Anguila (20 mins ferry ride you can see the island from St. Martin). A round of golf is $500. it is supposed to be one of the best. |
