Travel Info Is St. Marteen a good place to vacation with a two year old? Travel Tips Maybe, although I've never been there but I've heard it's beautiful. I've been to Barbados so far 5 times and love it. Others For beautiful beachs, clear calm water and great climate, yes. However, you do need to know and decide for yourself about what you allow your child to see, because be aware that some St. Maarten beachs do have nudity. More so on the St. Martin side (St. Maarten is Dutch side of island, St. Martin is French side of island). Even at Sunset Bar (Maho Beach) where you can sit on the beach and watch the jets land a few feet over your head, one of the things Sunset Bar does is serve free drinks to girls that are topless and advertise it so it's pretty usual. So take this in consideration when thinking about it. Was in St. Maarten a couple months ago. St Maarten is a great vacation spot for families. The beaches are plentiful, water calm and so blue/green. The sun is very hot there so be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and hat for the little one. Cover up for you too. A good website for asking questions regarding STM is http://traveltalkonline.com The posters on that site are repeat guests of STM and can help you with any other questions. We loved St Maarten/St Martin. You will have a great time. Happy travels St. Maarten is nice but it's more geared towards duty free shopping and that stuff. I would recommend Antigua though - lots more to see and do for a kid that age. 365 beaches all safe to swim or just dip in or tan, etc.... There's this new place that opened called Wapping Beach which would be perfect for a 2 yr old and it's right in the capital city of St. John's, water slides, kiddy pool, etc. |
