Ever been to Bora Bora????

Travel Info
Whats it like, and how expensive????

Travel Tips
I've been, but for the experience, it's very expensive but the beauty of that island makes you want to stay...I stayed at Hotel Bora Bora. On their website they have offers such as free breakfast during March. If you plan on an offer you can save some Money but overall it's expensive but worth every penny.

Hotel Bora Bora sits on the edge of a turquoise lagoon nestled beneath the lush green volcanic peaks of Mount Otemanu. There are three beaches and a barrier reef offering a variety of colourful marine life.

Others
Local currency is CPF-Central Pacific Franc.
All of Tahiti is VERY expensive.
Bloody Marys is a bar made famous because of the drink has a sand floor and wooden tables with tree stumps as chairs.
You can use mini buses driven by locals for a set rate. Taxis are expensive.
You can walk to quite a few restaurants along the waterfront if you arrive from a cruise ship.
Souvenirs are also expensive and you can't barter.
There is a great bar/restaurant called Pirates where you can dine over the water with mantra rays swimming underneath.
Hope this health.
My husband and I stayed in Bora Bora for 10 days in 2005. We stayed at La MaiTai and spent 4 nights in the hotel and the rest in an over the water bungalow. It was the most affordable place we could find that had the OTW bungalows. But I can't say that it was anywhere near cheap. There are definitely more luxurious hotels with more amenities but for us it was good fit. We didn't want to leave! Bloody Mary's is awesome, so is La Bounty. The 4X4 tour is a must. Snorkeling is amazing and if you go, make sure you take a day on one of the private motus- awesome. Just talking about it makes me want to start writing checks out of the home equity line to go back! Save your pennies- it's worth it, you'll never be able to go anywhere ever again without comparing it to Bora Bora.
