Is it safe to take a Carribean cruise in Sept.?

Travel Tips
why not? Hurricane season starts 1st of June, so it is usually fairly well over by sept....bon voyage....... Source(s): experienced world traveler.........

Other Travel Tips
Yes, because if there is any hint of a hurricane the cruise ship will change course. It is a good time to go, as it is still out of season and therefore cheaper and the children will be back at school. Enjoy yourself!
June 1 to November 1 is the official hurricane season. So you are going right in the middle of hurricane season.

yes but make sure you take a friend or two or somebody with you anywhere cause lots of people come up missing or throw over board so be careful.we learned from natalie holloway
Hi there....I was on a cruise of Aug/Sept '05 and loved it. Because it's prime hurricane season you shouldn't count on having 100% great weather. I think overall on my 9 day cruise it was crappy 1 day. We weren't able to go to Cape Canaveral Fl but we made all our other stops just fine. Plus you get a huge discount when going during hurricane season. I can't wait to go again on another cruise. All in all, it didn't seem to be overly packed. There wasn't a lot of younger people on board because of school and I appreciated that fact, even though I was 27 at the time of my cruise. You'll love it.
All you've got to do is stay up to date with weather reports since it's the most active month of the hurrican season in the Caribbean which runs from June 1 - Nov 30 yearly. The weather is usually very nice in the upper 70s.

As for a destination, I would recommend a cruise that stops in Antigua. Antigua is a little piece of paradise, has 365 LOVELY beaches and warm, friendly, inviting accommodating people. Delicious local dishes, lots to see and do. see for yourself.

Lovely sites, hikes, explore the coral reefs - you can feed the fish. Get a taste of the night life - clubs, etc... truly a lot to .... the most awesome breath-taking Sunsets picturesque moonlit sky with the stars all aglow......
