You will need a car. You are about a mile from Maho Beach and Mullet Bay. Maho beach, the airplanes fly over, bring your camera. It's quite a sight. Or go to Sunset Beach Bar to have drinks and watch the planes. Mullet Bay is awesome. Nice calm water. Food/Drink available on this beach. You can rent chairs and umbrellas. St Maarten is a beautiful island.
