What do you think of when you think about England? |
Travel Info I'm looking for information on famous cultural or natural landmarks in England. Info on landmarks in Germany, Russia, America, Japan or New Zeland would also be much appreciated. Travel Tips Never mind the south of England where they will rip you off. You wan to go to Yorkshire. Go to Howarth the home of the Bronte Sisters and walk on the unspoilt moorland where they lived and wrote. Go to York one of the oldest cities in England, home of the Yorvik museum, the York minster, the Railway museum marking the Industrial Revolution, Go to Leeds and see the Royal Armoury, Go to Huddersfield to see the Colne Valley Museum showing how the woollen industry led the Industrial revolution. Go to Skipton and Settle and see some of the prettiest countryside all the way up to Scotland. This is the real England where the blood and sweat of generations fought and forged the great British empire. Now no more. If you want to see Germany, then go to Berlin newly rebuilt after the Berlin wall fell and see the new Reichstag. Go to Munich where theres lots to see and Take a look at the Castles in Bavaria all very pretty like Fussen. Go to Lindau and Konstanz on the Bodensee. There is a lot of ver picturesque places in Germany Others I think of Big Ben, Buckingham palace, and that's about it. I also think of fish and chips, and people with really bad teeth. I think...in a girly voice "the red hoods are coming the red hoods are coming" cold wet whinging pommies From USA - First thoughts are royalty & changing of the guard. Have never been across the pond. For England: Rain Tea in 5 pm Soccer |
