A nice holiday resort near to Lisbon or Barcelona? |
Travel Info My boyfriend and I would like to have a short holiday this summer. We both live in different areas of France, with budget airlines which fly to Lisbon and Barcelona. Can you recommend cheap, pleasant areas to stay, where I could book accommodation independantly? Travel Tips Salou is queit near barcelona and has a good summer holiday atmosphere and big theme park near buy. Others salou yes. an hours drive from barca, or try lloret de mar. Why not stay in Barcelona itself?. A great city that offers everything for all ages and taste. A great web site is Expedia, where you build the holiday you want and can afford. I've been going for years (when was youngish alas pushing on a bit now) but never get bored. Me! why don't you stay in Lisbon itself- there are lots of apartments that you can rent independently or thousands of cheap but still nice B&Bs to choose between. Lisbon is a really beautiful city- lots of narrow winding streets with interesting architecture, cool shops and lovely cafes and great food. There's lots to do in the city itself- history, parks, art galleries, an amazing oceanarium, bars and clubs, tours etc and you're also right by the sea- ten minutes on the train and you can be on gorgeous sandy beaches where there are lots of watersports and attractive little towns like Cascais or you could go on a day trip to Sintra which is a very romantic woodland town with old castles etc. Or one day you could drive to Troia and go dolphin watching. I lived there for a year and still didn't get chance to do everything! I 'd recommend that you stayed in Lisbon itself because it has the best nightlife, its quite cheap and there are buses, underground and trains so you can easily explore.
