There are some rules (economic as well as political) to obey before you can apply. If you are not a member of the EU then you are treated like any other foreign country. In 1981, Greece became the 10th member of the EU, five years after becoming a democracy. They applied, they had cleaned up their political system, laws, and their economy, and were accepted. No doubt they broke plenty of EU rules just like all the other countries. Not respecting the 3% limit on their deficit is one. And I am all for the EU as it means for the first time that countries cannot go to war against each other anymore. The problem is similar to what happened to the usa! remeber the history? It take麓s long before to have somthing united. Lol, I'm Turkish and u can guess what I'm thinking of it..We are all bored of EU's plays. I didn't understand ur last sentence but Greece is only in EU.And some Greeks who I talked said that being an EU member isn't so good.. Greece is good |
