Travel Info My wife n I r planning 4 a trip to Italy n Paris by end of this yr 4 our long awaited honeymoon suggestions..? Travel Tips Both places are great. I have recently been to both. In Paris, go and see: -Sacre Couer and Pigalle -The Eiffel Tower -Notre Dame -Catacombs -The Lourve -Arc de Triomphe Also, you can take the RER train out to Versailles and see the Palace of Versailles. It is a little more costly than a regular metro ticket, but it is well worth it. In Italy, I visited Rome and Venice. In Rome, go see: -the Colosseum -Palatine Hill (ancient Roman ruins...it is amazing) -The Trevi Fountain is quite nice -the Spanish Steps are nice, but usually crowded -the Pantheon -the Vatican is of course a must see; at the Vatican there is St. Peter's Basillica, the papal tombs, and the Vatican Museum; also, it costs about 9 euros if I remember right, but the view from the dome of St. Peter's is pretty amazing...just be prepared for A LOT of narrow steps In Venice: -there is very little that isn't amazing about this place, it is definitely one of a kind -take time to explore all of the alleys...lots of cool places to see -St. Mark's Basillica is very nice -a gondola ride costs between 80 and 100 euros ($100-$130), but it is an amazing experience Considering this is a honeymoon, I imagine you might not want to fill it with too much sightseeing. Gotta have time for other things as well..;) All of these places make romantic places to walk though, so you should pretty much be in heaven. Hope this helps you some. Others ahh, try pistoia italy.. thats where my familys from.. its beautiful :) lots of rose petals on the floor and bed; candles and chocolate every night Make sure that you go to the Eiffel Tower at least once at night, they have a special lights at every hour that makes it look like it is twinkling. It is romantic to see the famous sights lit up at night. Many of these sights are even more beautiful at night lit up than in the day, they have special team of people that coordinate all the lighting for the monuments. Depending on how much sightseeing you will do in Paris, a Paris Museum Pass might be a good idea. You won't have to wait in line and you get free access to certain museums. http://www.parismuseumpass.com/en/home.p... Make sure you go up the Arc de Triomphe for best view of the city. I don't know what is good romantic hotel because when I have been in Paris, I don't tend to spend much time in the hotel room, so I would use this site to find something go for you. http://www.tripadvisor.com/hotels-g18714... Have a safe trip! |
