Has anyone been to tatari in bulgaria, is it alright there?

Travel Info
i have already asked what bulgaria is like, now i am trying to find out about the village we are going to.

Travel Tips
Strange choice for a first-time Bulgaria visit, Tatari seems to be off any tourist routes or places of interest鈥?never been to Tatari, but I expect they鈥檒l have some authentic B&B鈥檚 or some other kind of immersion into old customs there, I also expect you鈥檒l be doing some day trips... now I鈥檓 curious about it.

I鈥檝e taken my husband on at least half a dozen excursions around Bulgaria, and he loves it 鈥?the 鈥渙ld stones鈥?(aka ruins), the churches and monasteries, centuries-old pristine villages with unique architecture, flavorful food (very inexpensive), arts and crafts, colorful sceneries, fun beaches or ski resorts depending on time of year, buzzing night life, quality shopping (especially for immaculate cocktail and business attire and clothes in general), you name it鈥?

We played hide-and-seek completely undisturbed by guardrails or security or anybody at all -- or lights in the dungeon for that matter - at Baba Vida fortress鈥?hiked to a natural rock formation stronghold in Belogradchik鈥?spent a night at the monks鈥?chambers at Rila monastery鈥?saw ancient gold treasures and artifacts in several city museums鈥?went inside a Thracian tomb鈥?wandered endlessly by the sea between Nessebar and Sunny Beach鈥njoyed a colossal opera production under the open sky in downtown Sofia鈥?and I鈥檓 not even listing any of the regular touristy places to go to, like Veliko Turnovo, Arbanasi, Etara, Shipka, Melnik (mmm, wine!), Plovdiv with its old town, Varna, 鈥?

There is a stunning contrast between the big cities, such as Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, hustling and bustling with their posh downtowns, shiny storefronts, busy offices and countless cafes, and the rural areas that seem framed in a time some 50 years ago鈥? It has given me a different perspective on my country, seen through my husband鈥檚 鈥渇oreigner/explorer鈥?eyes鈥?Bulgaria is a totally unique experience and if you keep an open mind you鈥檒l have an awesome time鈥? I鈥檓 hoping we鈥檒l be back there again in September鈥?Enjoy your trip!

It's a shithole
nope, never and never heard of...
Never been to Tatari, but most of Bulgaria is wonderful. Not very developed, but the place has so much character and is so different, I'd be surprised if you don't enjoy your trip there.
I have not been there but it seems to be a village of 442 population in the area of the Belene municipality in Central North Bulgaria, close to the Danube river:

Many Brits and French seem to have bought houses there.
