Do European toilets have toilet paper? As a tourist, should I carry my own? |
Travel Info I've read on some website that they do and on others (Rick Steves) that you should carry your own. Confusion? I leave for Europe in 2 1/2 weeks. Will be in Italy, France and UK> Help! Travel Tips Carry a small packet of tissues but be assured that all toilets in Europe have toilet paper. Bring one packet with you, but know that you can buy more here. I mention that in case Rick Steves thinks we wipe our noses on our sleeves. Others I've been to all those places, and they do have toliet paper there. You can bring some of your own, if it makes you feel better, but it is not necessary. I have never encountered a public toilet in Europe that lacked toilet paper. Coming from America, it may be important to note that public toilets in Europe often will cost you a little (ranging from 20 cent to 1 euro) and that sometimes even restaurants charge guests to use the facilities. I usually just ignore the workers though; very rarely do they speak to you about it. Yes, Europeans have toilet paper...why wouldn't they? I traveled to Ireland in April, and every bathroom I was in had toilet paper. There's no need to carry your own unless you prefer a specific brand. It can even be proved because in the UK, they call toilet paper "toilet roll". Trust me, I don't think you'll be having an issue finding toilet paper anywhere over there. As a muslim, we are instructed to wash ourselves with water after using the toilet. that is so much cleaner. In muslim countries, you always find a washer in every toilet. why don't you carry a little bottle of water with you? As far as toilet paper is concerned, I have been to UK and France and I have not had the experience of not finding toilet paper, but you might like to take a pack of tissue incase. EDIT: I am sorry that the best advice gets thumbed down. It like please do not ask me to be clean!!! lol oh myh god yes they do....just like in america , if the workers at the gas station don't restock of course they won't have any....were do people get this stuff. |
