A question for backpackers?!? |
Travel Info When backpacking do you limit yourself to small cities? I've delisted London, Berlin and Rome from my itinerary because they're really big, and hard to cover. I added Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Krakow. These are really small and easy to get around without the need of a guide. Any other suggestions? Travel Tips the small city in Germany around bavaria is worth to see as well if you go down from Germany to Switzerland - the small cities around Lac Leman - will take your breath away.... from Geneva - you can cross the country to France. Visit Annecy - you won't regret yourself to visit that city then another hour to Chamonix which is amazing in the winter and beautiful in summer time. If you really need more cities - from Chamonix cross the mountblanc tunnel to get into Bergamo or Verona or Merano (the shangri-la of Italy) in Italy -it鈥檚 a gorgeous 2-hour drive through the Alps, with vistas of cows or sheep grazing in lush meadow. then down to Toscana - enjoy capucinno and italian pasta with Italian people surround you. if you're already in italy - dont forget to visit The Cinque Terre. means five lands Italy's famous Cinque Terre are five perilously-perched villages strung along a short stretch of cliffs in Liguria, at the top left of Italy's boot. You really dont need a guide to go to those cities :) and really ..really you have to go there :D just my idea... Others If you want to see these larger cities, do it but do the research ahead of time to make sure that you don't run out of money. I think that a lot of people just don't want to see a large city because it is a large city. There might be more charm and uncovered treasures in smaller places but in the end, make the best of it. You might want to post your question on the website www.gapyear.com which originates in the U.K. |
