Whats the difference between 1st class and 2nd class on the eurail?

Travel Info
would first class provide a place to shower and or sleep? what do they have that second class doesnt provide?

Travel Tips
It varies by train and by country.
If you're just taking day trips, 2nd class is perfectly fine. Ist class may be empty if you want to be alone.
For night travel, you can get a 2nd class couchette/sleeping place shared with 4 places or with 6. They are about 25-30$ in addition to the ticket price. If you have money, get a private compartment on a night train and, depending on the country, you find different styles and levels of comfort. One of the nicest night train trips I had was from Warsaw to Vilnius in 2nd class. They gave tea, croissants, tissues, candy, etc. and there was a sink in the compartment.
If you get a Eurail pass and are over 26, you have to buy the first class pass (except for some national passes), but still you can travel in 2nd class and may prefer to in some countries just so you can watch people and not be alone. Both classes usually have nice velvet seats, but as for the lavatories, the 1st class are much nicer/much less used.
Others
They give you breakfast/lunch newspaper etc. and most importantly you are away from the noise & stench of the common herd in 2nd class
In 2nd Class, you mix with locals, students and young people.
In 1st Class, you mix with snobby tourists and businessmen.
