Italian pronunciation? |
Travel Info I have began learning Italian, and got a little bit confused along the way. I was listening to Italian numbers being said and number 5 'cinque' was said chingue. Is 'ci' prounounced as Ch in Italian? Travel Tips Yes. Ci = "chi" like in "chin" I would rather spell the pronounciation of cinque as "chinkwe". No "g" in it. Moreover: "ce" = "che" like in "chest" "chi" = "ki" like in "kiss" "che" = "ke" like in "kennel" or "rocket" Others to pronounce 'k' (like in Car, Comb, Kitchen, etc.) you have to have these written down: ca che chi co cu/qu examples: casa, oche, chiesa, cosa, cubo, quota to pronounce ch (like in CHin, CHair, etc.) instead: cia ce/cie ci cio ciu examples: ciarlatano, celebrare, cielo, cicogna, ciondolo, ciurma Italian native |
