Travelling from Russia To U.K.?

Anybody got a clue. A person coming from Russia to G.B for a holiday to stay with friends. Do they have to show they have enough money to cover expenses for 14 days before obtaining a visa.They tell me it is 拢1400 is that right?

I think you need to show proof of income, such as document stating annual salary if you are employed, or documents from somebody who is sponsoring your holidays, like parents for last several months with their income. Mind you, you the sponsor is in the UK, the checks might take up to 4 weeks. Although it is more a formality!!!
