Austrian welcome home customs.?

hi my friends husband is coming home and we wanted to do something special to welcome him home. he's of austrian decent, so we wanted to do something of austrian nature in welcoming home someone. i was wondering if any of you know their customs to welcome someone home. thanks!

I don't think there are any specific customs for this, but why don't you cook him a nice Austrian meal and play some music from his home country? There's also a rhyming slogan you could paint on a banner and hang over the door - not specifically Austrian, but someone put it up for me once and I thought it was sweet:

Hurra, hurra, hurra - endlich bist Du wieder da!

(Hooray, hooray hooray - you're back at last!)
