Travel Info I don't have a credit card. How should I go about it? Travel Tips If you don't have a credit card, call the hostel in advance and make a reservation over the phone. Tell them at what time you intend to show up and most hostels will hold your bed for you. You don't need a credit card to do this! The only times when this doesn't work is when there are big events and the whole town is full. And then you can still use networks like the HI-network or Germany's Gomio to book in advance. I once booked my whole trip through the UK in advance from the HI hostel in London - paid the whole amount in cash on the spot and got a voucher in return saying that I had paid for these dates in that hostel. Others impossible without a credit card. Get somebody else to book it with a credit card and pay them. Yes you do have to pay at least a part of the fee in advance. The rest will be charged when you check in.
