Hostel or B&B? |
Travel Info I'm travelling alone. I checked hostel prices but single rooms with private bathroom are expensive (75$). And I don't like to share bathrooms or sleep with strangers. How bad are shared bathrooms? And aren't B&B cheaper in this case? Or should I rent a cheap appartment? I'm new to the concept of hostelling. I'm not expecting luxury treatment or anything, but I like cleaniness. Travel Tips If you travel alone, for 40 days, you might want to consider staying in some hostels because it is much easier to make contact there. I have been a hostel user for a long time but am going to hotels and BB's more often. But nothing can beat the easy to make contact in hostels, even when you have your own room. Most hotels and BB's do not encourage the kind of meet the others that hostels do. Others i would do the b and b for shure. i'm the same way. and they are cheaper. Uh, where? That'll have a lot to do with the answer. B and B's are nice and you get breakfast and sometimes dinner for the price. Cleanness is dependent on where you stay. Sharing a bathroom is not a bad concept, as long as the staff has a person who is there everyday to clean. Some of the B&B's have private baths for their guests. Prices are going to be about the same no matter where you are staying. Seventy five dollars isn't a bad price anywhere in the world for a nights stay. Most places charge around ninty dollars........Can you tell me where you are going? just a general area. A few years ago, I traveled around Ireland by myself. I stayed in both B&Bs and hostels. All of the B&B's were quiet and reasonably priced. I stayed in 3 hostels- 2 in a room by myself and a bath by myself. I guess you just have to check the hostels to see if that is possible for you. I was lucky. If you don't want to take a chance and you're not into dorm style living, go with a B&B- you'll sleep better. check out www.hostels.com and www.hostelworld.com |
