Should I just stay in Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice) or go to more European cities for anniversary?

Travel Info
My husband and I will be celebrating our 10 yr anniversary and I want to take him to Italy, my most favorite European country. I have visited many cities throughout Europe but he hasn't. He has only been in Spain once while I have been in Europe 4 times many years ago (before the Euro!).

I was checking prices and tours of just Italy and this costs me about the same as other tours to other countries. I was thinking that if we go to Italy, we can only afford the kind of tour that would take us to Rome, Florence and Venice (if I go to Italy, I must go to these three, hands down). There are other tours that touch these three only briefly, and also include cities in France, England, even Germany, for about the same price and maybe an extra couple of days more than the Italian tour.

I don't know what to choose. He tells me he doesn't have a preference, so it's up to me.

Travel Tips
I disagree with the other answers...I think you should concentrate on the one country rather than trying to see several countries. You didn't say how long you would be travelling but imagine at most two weeks. Italy itself is quite diverse and there's so much to explore in those three cities, let alone if you include some time on the coast or further south like Naples or Sicily. Take your time to enjoy the places, explore the city rather than rushing through it, it's your anniversary...splurge at nice restaurants, go to a spa, etc. You should be enjoying your time together not trying to click off how many countries or places you are seeing. You say your husband is open and doesn't have a preference -- if he hasn't done a whirlwind tour, then he may not really like it.

Perillo Tours used to have decent tours aimed at average people but I don't know for certain. I myself haven't taken an organised tour in ages but I travel a lot. I'd try to find a smaller based company with an angle that suits you both (i.e. with cooking in Tuscany, biking or other activity) because you'll see parts of the city or culture that you might not get otherwise.
Others
I've taken a tour that's just like the second one..so we visited a couple of country and just stay a night on every city...i think that because your husband haven't visited many cities, you should take the second tour...cause you can see a lot of things in a short time.. ^^
i would go for the second one because you will be able to see more places and it will give him a better view of Europe.
