Travelling to Frankfurt. Can anyone give me some ideas of what to do?

Travel Info
Hello!!!

I麓m travelling to Frankfurt tomorrow and I would like to know some good places to go to like: bars, discos, restaurant麓s, etc.

If anyone has been there, can you tell me what is the city like, the people, etc.

Thankyou :)

Travel Tips
Frankfurt is a small city, easy to get around and with plenty to do. Westend is full of clubs and restaurants. Nordend is laid back and also full of restaurants.

I've been here three times for long projects (am on the third right now) and there seems to be a festival or market somewhere in the city each weekend.

You should check out the shows at Alte Oper (the old opera house - not always classical) and Frankfurt Messe (loads of different programs).

There is a huge shopping street called the Zeil, which is mainly a pedestrian route. You can buy just about anything along there from top name brands in the department stores to small, handmade craft items along the street. There is usually at least one live street performance going on somewhere there. Dont' eat at the restaurants at the end near the Alte Oper because they are overpriced and not very good - they only look popular because they're full of unkowing tourists!

Try the link below. It's been very useful to me.

The people are generally friendly and helpful. They don't all speak English, but they won't give you a hard time if you don't speak German and will make an effort to communicate with gestures.

Have a great time! Source(s): http://www.frankfurt.de/sixcms/detail.ph...
