It is nice. I was there two years ago and I must say that it was expensive. But we stayed at a hostel, ate our meals from a large supermarket or from vendors, and walked a lot. We managed to see a bit of the city but we were more interested in the beach. It was sort of rocky instead of having a sandy surface and we should have bought one of those beach mats that everyone uses.

Nice is nice (beaches, palms) but f*cking expensive. I would never go there again, you could feel in the air and in the prices that you were getting closer to Monaco.

Not my cup of tea. To be fair we only stopped there briefly, but it was so overwhelmingly "touristy" that we were only too glad to get back out. Personally I prefer the lower profile beach towns and the mountain area is much nicer with far nicer people. In my experience the locals in the most popular areas are totally fed up with tourists.
