Is that it? |
Travel Info A German tourist in conversation told me that I am not English but simply a European like him. Is that it ?. Do I no longer have a national identity ?. Travel Tips I think you'd be better off asking him what he exactly meant with that. I can't tell if he felt his national identity dissolving, or whether he actually WANTS that to happen. If you ask me, "unity in diversity" is a very nice idea and I'm all for people being proud of who they are, and their country (as long as it doesn't promote hate or superiority). You're both English and European, rest reassured =) Others ...maybe he didnt want to be german..........cant blame him.... I class myself as Welsh not European English means very little nowadays.....to see what I mean take a trip to Wolverhampton...you will think you are in India or some such place for you will see very few white folk. And all these people are English...I think I'd sooner be European. I have heard that in the UK we mainly refere to ourselves as english Irish etc... But in Other countries in Europe they mainly call themselves European. But im not totally convinced. I can see the people of France for one losing calling themselves The French. can you.. come-in number 35642/uk/pilfered identity. I don't think we class ourselves as Europeans but maybe in years to come many years hopefully |
