What's a good strategic place in Europe, from where you can travel to anywhere in Europe? |
Travel Info How about Munich? Or Basel, Switzerland? Travel Tips Europe (at least to North Americans) is pretty small. As a hub, you're looking for somewhere with a lot of airports and train stations. Munich is a good choice if you have mondy (Lufthansa hub, trains to Paris, Venice, Vienna, etc), so is London (five airports. . .three low cost airline hubs, although living costs are high). On a budget, Berlin is probably best (lots of cheap flights - easyjet, ryanair, and air berlin, to name just a few - plus good train connections). Skip Switzerland unless you have plenty of time - lots of mountains make it awkward to travel from, although it's in the centre of Europe. Others London, Paris, Amsterdam... Switzerland is a good place but check for the visa... they are stricter than others as they do not belong to CEE Depending on the means of travel, I would say Frankfurt for air travel and Milan for rail. If you are going to use car, then either of the two cities you mention would be adequate. How far you want to expand the radius of your travel from there? |
