Car travel in Europe? |
Travel Info thanks to those who have posted answers. Sounds like trains may be a better option than a car but which is cheaper. We want to see Paris, Rome, Prague, Florence Travel Tips Rentals are quite expensive. In Bucharest, for example, renting a car in Bucharest is about 75 Euros per day without fuel. it is best to get a Oyster card and use the train. thats what we are gunna do when we go to London and Paris Paris - It is generally a bad idea to rent a car to visit Paris. Traffic is very dense, and parking tends to be difficult. This is especially true in areas surrounding points of touristic interest, since many of these are in areas designed long before automobiles existed. Many Parisian households do not own cars. Rome traffic is chaotic, so it is better to use public means, if possible, while in Rome. A valid alternative is to rent a scooter which costs about 40鈧?per day. Prague- Prague suffers from heavy traffic and on week days the main streets are one big traffic jam. Moreover, Prague still doesn't have a complete highway outer circuit. Florence- Much of the town centre is blocked off to cars and anyway moving around in the city centre by car is definitely useless and not advised. Parking is also almost impossible in the city centre. A car can be useful only to reach some destinations just outside the city centre, like Fiesole or Settignano, which are however also connected by bus service. Be advised that at many tourist destinations parking can be difficult and at least expensive. Gas , parking, rental, maintenance and driving directions R expensive , and cars are not allowed in some of the old historical parts of Prague, Florence. Depends on the number of passengers... When you are traveling with 3 or more, a car would definitely be cheaper... But if you plan it right, you can take a late train and sleep on the train...so you won't have to pay for a hotel for that night....
